RG4 represents a grating product series that can read grating scales with a spacing of 40 μ m, supporting higher speeds and larger installation tolerances. The RG4 series includes RGH34RGH40 and RGH41 reading heads, each with technical specifications that can meet customers' personalized needs.
RGH34 is a compact component level reading head that can be used in conjunction with RGS40-S gold-plated steel strip grating ruler, RGS40-G chrome plated glass grating ruler, and RESR circular grating. The RGH40 reading head reads the RGS40-G chrome plated glass grating ruler and the RESR stainless steel circular grating, while the RGH41 reading head reads the RGS40-S gold-plated steel grating ruler.
　　Working principle
The optical principle used in RG4 is basically the same as that of RG2 (page 10). However, the LED infrared light is laterally irradiated onto the flat top of the grating scale, creating the "side light" effect shown in the optical diagram below.
Both RG2 and RG4 systems are equipped with unique integrated LED installation indicator lights, which turn green if installed correctly.
All models of reading heads have reference zero and/or limit switches, with RGH40 and RGH41 having dual limit switches. The reference zero position provides a highly repetitive starting position or zero point, while the limit switch indicates the end point of the travel.
